We had swimming lessons every Sunday morning with Yvonne Kennedy. Myself and my five siblings Linda, Sandra, Deborah, Valerie and Eileen and my first cousins David and James had swimming lessons every Sunday morning with Yvonne, in all weathers. I can recall the waves so high coming over the walls , my mam and aunty Eileen, god rest them, were so dedicated for us all to learn to swim.

Yvonne was a fantastic instructor – so dedicated. We lived in Eden Villas, Glasthule and my cousins where from Cross Ave, Dun Laoghaire. You are talking about 48 years ago even more as my eldest sister is turning 60 this year.
